Meet Bizarre! The 16 year Old ‘Snake Boy’ Sheds His Skin Every 41 Days [PHOTOS]

http://www.nigerianmonitor.com/2014/09/29/meet-bizarre-the-16-year-old-snake-boy-sheds-his-skin-every-41-days-photos/
Ari Wibowo sheds his skin like a snake every 41 days and must
constantly smear his body with moisturiser to stop it hardening and
seizing up.
The Indonesian teenager has a rare skin condition that doctors in
Indonesia have been unable or unwilling to treat and which has left him
with an extraordinary appearance.
He suffers from Erythroderma, an inflammatory skin disease also known
as ‘red man syndrome’, that causes the skin over almost the entire body
to become scaly and flake off.
Ari has shed his skin every 41 days since he was born 16 years ago. He
must soak his body in water every hour – night and day – and smear
himself with lotion every three hours to prevent drying out.
Photographer Nurcholis Anhari Lubis, 35, has documented the little boy’s
condition as part of an essay project and describes the boy’s skin
condition as ‘scaly like a snake about to shed his skin’.
‘It’s really sad because he was not born normally and has scaly skin all
over his body, similar to being severely burnt, from the sole of his feet
up to his head,’ Mr Lubis told Daily Mail Australia.
‘If the boy doesn’t moisturise or soak his skin in water, his body would
shrivel and harden up like a sculpture and he won’t be able to move,’
Mr Lubis said.
‘If he leaves it unattended for too long, he won’t be able to speak
because the wrinkles inside his mouth would go hard and it would dry
out all his blood in his body.’
Mr Lubis said Ari’s family were told by doctors at the hospital where he
was born that it did not have the resources to treat the condition, and
asked them to take the infant away.
He and his family now live by a routine of constant washing and
dressing his skin with creams.
Still, the boy is trying to live a normal life in his village.
‘He eats normal food like everyone else and his favourite snacks are
instant noodles and crackers,’ Mr Lubis said.
‘He had trouble making friends when he was younger and would often
go and play with the other kids but most of the time, they would avoid
him because he is different to everyone else.’

Ari must contantly wash and moisturise his skin to stop it from drying out Ari has had trouble making friends because he looked different and people feared his condition may be contagious Photographer Nurcholis Anhari Lubis has documented Ari’s life for an essay project Ari is taking lessons, but is forced to study alone because of ignorance about his condition in the community. ‘No schools are willing to accept him because they fear his skin condition would be contagious to teachers and other students,’ Mr Lubis said. Ari also suffers prejudice because of superstitions in his village. Mr Lubis said many people blame Ari’s condition on a superstition that if a woman mistreats animals while she is pregnant then it will affect her unborn child. Some people believe Ari’s mother ‘tortured a lizard’ she found in the family home when she was pregnant with Ari. ‘I do not believe the myths but in Indonesia, there are still a lot of people who believe this,’ Mr Lubis said. Jakarta-based Mr Lubis spent four days with the little boy and his family. ‘When I approached Ari for a photo shoot, he looked very shy but didn’t feel embarrassed and was happy to share his story,’ he said. ‘My interests have been to document lives and the way humans live in their own world, interacting with it and struggling to change it into their own way.’ Ari has trouble talking because of the condition and the vision in his right eye is impaired, while the left must be kept moist with constant drops.

Tambuwal, Tinubu Tells Jonathan To Resign From Office.

http://www.nigerianmonitor.com/2014/11/06/resign-now-tambuwal-tinubu-tell-jonathan/ The embattled Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, on Wednesday, came down hard on President Goodluck Jonathan, asking him to resign from office for running “a system that does not have the interest of the country at heart”. Addressing supporters of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ilorin, Kwara State, during the formal declaration of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed for a second term, the Speaker warned that should the president failed to do so, Nigerian voters should revolt against him at the February presidential poll. The Speaker had, at the APC extra-ordinary convention last week, said the party would chase out the “cabal” running the country at the poll next year. “I call on President Jonathan to resign from office because of all the mis- governance and the untold hardship Nigerians are presently passing through,” he said. If he fails to do that it is therefore incumbent on us as a people to turn out en-masse and vote out Goodluck Ebele Jonathan come 2015. That will bring peace, progress and development of Nigeria.’’ He continued, “I am sure that (Kwara) state will provide such leadership to the extent that we shall deliver this country to the government at the centre to APC,” he said in Ilorin on Wednesday. ‘’By voting APC at the centre you will be voting for prosperity and eradication of poverty. What we are witnessing today in Nigeria is not governance, but mis-governance. We are witnessing a system that does not have the interest of the people of this country at heart.” The Speaker described Kwara State’s political history as a rich one, saying the foundation of the political struggle and the structure laid by the late Olusola Saraki was being sustained by God. Stating that the voting pattern known among the people of Kwara State would not be different next year, Mr. Tambuwal noted that with the support of the people, the APC would “form 100 percent of the government in the state from the local council to state Assembly and to the Government House”. Also speaking at the event, a former governor of Lagos , Bola Tinubu, lambasted Mr. Jonathan for allowing the Boko Haram terrorists to seize parts of the nation’s territory, stating that he ought to have resigned because of the development. He said, ‘’I saw the sea of refuges and the lies coming from Jonathan’s administration. They have exhibited failure, lack of capacity, vision, creativity; the lie of yesterday is what they repeat today and it is what they will repeat tomorrow. They are lying to you. They are lying about the security, toying about the security of this country. I don’t have time to explain the logic of their lies.’’ ‘’If you control the armed forces and you are the Commander-in-Chief of the armed of the federal republic, why should any part of this country be under occupation? “And you give us excuses every day. In any civilised country, Jonathan should have resigned. But if he will not resign he should wait for our broom we will sweep them away.’’ The APC leader, who recently returned from a medical trip abroad, asked the party members to be ready for change because the race had begun. He said the party had endorsed Mr. Ahmed for second term because he performed well in office like his predecessor, Bukola Saraki. Mr. Tinubu alleged that the PDP administration not only steals the people’s money on daily basis, but also refused to give them jobs. According to him, “The thieves that daily steal your money, they have not given you any job; they cannot create jobs and they are starving states of funds to pay workers salaries. The best thing to do is to sweep them away through broom revolution. APC is a party of the masses.’’ He said this was the first time he would be on a podium with Mr. Saraki to campaign for the same party, and asked the APC faithful in the state to commence a house-to-house campaign to signal a new beginning. He added, ‘’Now it is time to apply commonsense revolution and it is about your lives. It is about your education, your jobs and about the security of this country. We stay together since independence and we will remain together. Any affecting any section of this country affects all of us.’’ ‘’I will come back. This is just the endorsement of Governor Ahmed; that he will be re-elected by the grace of God with the support of you people here and those outside there. The unemployment situation will be conquered by this administration of APC. We have the vision for the security of lives of our children.’’ On his part, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar said he was a foundation member of the current political dispensation in Kwara State. While wishing that the late Saraki were alive, Mr. Abubakar said, “We should make sure we sustain the legacy Oloye left behind by making sure that Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed is returned.” Justifying his bid for second term, Mr. Ahmed said the state was much better than he met it. “Today, before all of you, I make bold to say we have essentially fulfilled our covenant and in the process strengthened your faith in governance,’’ he said. “I humbly and formally declare my intention to run for a second term in office so that I can do more for our state and its people. By the grace of God and with your mandate, we intend to accelerate the development of our state when re-elected for a second term in office.’’ Other APC leaders at the event, held at Metropolitan Square, Ilorin, were presidential hopefuls, Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Rabi’u Kwankwaso of Kano State and Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State. Governors Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto State, Chibuike Amaechi of Rivers State, Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, former Governor Bukola Saraki and former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, were also in attendance. Ritualists Den Owned By A Pastor Uncovered In Lagos.

http://www.nigerianmonitor.com/2014/06/26/horror-ritualists-den-owned-by-a-pastor-uncovered-in-lagos/
A ritualist den owned by one pastor Ernest Nwankwo, the General
Overseer of Holy Family Ministry a.k.a House of Mercy
was yesterday June 25th uncovered at Ogolonto area in Ikorodu, Lagos,
with 8 victims rescued.
According to Vanguard , the den was discovered after a failed attempt by
a woman identified as Mrs Rosemary Chukwu, a member of Pastor
Nwankwo’s church, to kidnap her neighbor’s 7 year old son, Emeka
Emmanuel to the den for rituals.
Sources in the area said around 6.30 am yesterday, Mrs Chukwu lured
the little boy who was on his way to fetch water from a well down the
road and took him to her house where she locked him in the toilet. To
keep her neighbors from hearing the little boy’s screams for help,
Chukwu then instructed her own children to begin a prayer session
which they did, shouting on top of their voices. Continue…
Trouble however started when the boy’s mother who stays four
buildings from Mrs Chukwu raised alarm after she could not find her
son. A search for the young boy began which Mrs Chukwu also partook
in. Minutes into the search, Mrs Chukwu was said to have excused
herself, went into her house and then came out with a box on her head,
saying she was travelling. Suspecting foul play, some of the area boys
instructed her to put down the suitcase which was opened and the
unconscious body of the 7 year old boy was discovered.
A resident of the area, Oyetoye Gbemi who spoke with Vanguard said
the area boys descended on her and she confessed it was her pastor who
sent her
“She told us she was travelling to the village. But one of the area
boys who was among the search party, ordered his colleagues to
search the box. Immediately she heard that, she flung the box
away and took to her heels. We all suspected something was
amiss. When the box was opened, Emmanuel was found inside,
half dead. The area boys descended on her and stripped her
naked. On interrogation, she said her pastor, the General
Overseer of Holy Family Ministry a.k.a House of Mercy, asked
her to bring the boy. The area boys followed her to 319, Lagos
Road, Ikorodu, where the church is situated, where they saw her
pastor waiting for her. But on sighting the crowd, he took to his
heels. But for the arrival of Policemen from Owutu division, the
woman would have been lynched. The angry mob also attempted
to set the church ablaze but were also prevented by the
policemen. They, however, succeeded in torching some parts of
the property.” he said
In the process of chasing the fleeing Pastor and burning some part of the
church building, area boys forced open a door to a building at 7, Oshodi
Street, which was directly at the back of the church building and owned
by Pastor Ernest. To everyone’s amazement, men and women, eight in
number, chained and looking frail were found in the building. The
captives upon interrogation said they were kidnapped from various
places like Ogun, Anambra, Bayelsa and Oyo states. One of the captives,
a 50 year old woman said she was kidnapped while returning from a
night vigil. One of the rescued victim, 52 year old man pictured above
without a shirt said he was a commercial bus driver and was kidnapped
two years ago.
Residents in the area said the building owned by the pastor had always
been under suspicion as no one ever saw anyone coming out or going in
during the day. They said most of the activities carried out in the
building is usually done at night.
Police sources confirmed the arrest of Mrs Chukwu while her pastor is
currently on the run.
